The Flipkart PLA Product Report.

You want to know which products the budget is actually going to, and whether one failing product is most of the account.

What the file contains.

Advertising performance per advertised product rather than per campaign or keyword — spend, views, clicks, orders and revenue attributed to each listing.

This is the level at which Flipkart advertising meets Flipkart margin, and the two do not otherwise meet anywhere. Commission is set by category, the fixed fee steps with price, and shipping is charged on billable weight, so what a product can afford to spend on advertising is a property of that product and nothing else.

It also catches the case campaign reporting hides: a listing advertised across several campaigns, where each campaign looks acceptable and the product's combined spend is well past what its margin supports.

Run the settlement calculator on a product first and you have its contribution margin, which is also the advertising cost of sale at which an extra order earns nothing. Read this report against that figure rather than against an account-wide target, and the decision about which listings to keep advertising stops being a matter of taste.

What it can tell you.

  • Which listings the advertising budget actually goes to
  • Which products return enough to justify what they cost to advertise
  • Which listings appear in multiple campaigns and at what combined spend

PLA Products

Which of your Flipkart products the budget is actually going to, and whether that is the right one. Reports concentration alongside the ranking, because a ranked list shows a failing product as one row rather than as most of the account.

  • Budget Concentration
  • Under-performing FSNs
