Flipkart seller analytics and optimization tools.
Flipkart's Seller Hub exports are worse documented than Amazon's and less well served by tooling, which is precisely why they are worth reading properly. PLA advertising, Earn More opportunities and settlement — from the files you already download, parsed in your browser.
- Five PLA advertising report types, read as Flipkart actually publishes them
- Settlement calculator is free and needs no account
- Your export is parsed in your browser and never reaches our servers
Flipkart's reports assume you already know.
The PLA report family alone has six shapes, and they do not announce themselves. The preamble rows above the header vary by report type, conversion rate appears on two different scales depending on which export you pulled, and a blank Expected ROI column does not mean zero — it means the campaign is bidding on CPC rather than targeting a return, which is a completely different thing to read.
Get any of those wrong and the numbers still render. That is the danger: a misread Flipkart export does not error, it produces a plausible dashboard with the wrong answer in it, and nothing tells you.
These modules were built against real exports from more than one seller account for exactly that reason. The parsing rules come from what the files actually contain, not from what the column names suggest they should.
Flipkart PLA advertising analysis
Five report types, each with its own module: search terms, campaign orders, placements, products and keywords. Between them they answer where the ad money went, which queries triggered it, and which placements and products returned anything.
The search term report is the one to start with — as on Amazon, it holds both the spend that produced nothing and the queries worth targeting deliberately, and it is the report most likely to pay for the ten minutes it takes.
Reading Flipkart's own opportunity list
Earn More is Flipkart telling you what it thinks you should fix — pricing that has fallen out of the buy-box range, listings missing attributes that drive discovery, assortment gaps against demand it can see and you cannot. It is genuinely useful and almost universally ignored, because the export arrives as an undifferentiated list with no sense of which rows are worth anything.
This module ranks those opportunities by what acting on them is actually worth, so the export becomes a work queue rather than a wall of equally-weighted suggestions. In practice a small number of listings carry most of the available upside, and the point of the ranking is to find them without reading the whole file.
It is downloaded from Growth → Nxt Insights → Earn More, where you pick a date range before requesting the listings report — a path worth writing down, because it is not where most sellers look for it.
Flipkart settlement and profit
Flipkart's fee structure differs from Amazon's in ways that matter: commission by category, a fixed fee, collection fee, shipping charged on a slab, and GST on top of the fees themselves.
The settlement calculator works out the net figure per order for a real price and category. Feed that into the margin and break-even calculators and you have the number to price and bid against — the same arithmetic as Amazon, different inputs.
What Flipkart advertising does differently
Most sellers reading this already run Amazon ads, and the instinct is to carry the mental model across. It mostly transfers, with three exceptions that change what the numbers mean.
First, campaigns come in two kinds. An ROI campaign has a return target; a CPC campaign has a cost-per-click bid and no target at all. The Expected ROI column is blank on the second kind — not zero, blank — and reading that as a failed target inverts the conclusion on every CPC campaign you have.
Second, on ROI campaigns the target lives on the ad group rather than the campaign, so it can look missing at campaign level even when one is set. Third, PLA and PCA are separate ad products with separate report exports, and pulling the wrong one gives you a file that parses cleanly and describes campaigns you were not asking about.
The same maths, whichever marketplace
ACOS, ROAS, TACoS and break-even do not change between Flipkart, Amazon and Myntra — only the fee inputs and the report column names do. All four calculators are free, need no account, and accept any currency.
Flipkart's ROI target on a PLA campaign is the same idea as ROAS stated the other way round, which is worth knowing when you set one: a target ROI of 4 is a 25% ACOS.
How it works.
The export paths are the part people lose time on, so every module names its own exactly. Here is the shape of it.
- 01
Export from Seller Hub
Advertising reports live under Ads → Reports → Other reports, where you pick the ad product (PLA or PCA) and the report type. Earn More is under Growth → Nxt Insights → Earn More. Each module repeats its own path on the page.
- 02
Upload the file
Drag the export straight in. It is parsed in your browser — the rows never reach our servers, so there is nothing to configure and nothing stored.
- 03
Read it, then export the working list
Every module shows the numbers behind its conclusions and exports to Excel with the analysis intact.
What this is.
- Built against real Flipkart exports, from more than one account
- The PLA report formats were confirmed across two separate seller accounts, because the preamble rows and the conversion-rate scale genuinely vary between report types and a parser built against one account gets the other subtly wrong.
- Blank is not zero
- A blank Expected ROI means the campaign is running on CPC, not that its target is zero. The modules read it that way. Small distinction, and it inverts the conclusion on any campaign it touches.
- Your data never reaches our servers
- Report files are parsed client-side. There is no upload endpoint for the rows to arrive at, so there is nothing to leak or be compelled to hand over.
- Settlement calculator is free forever
- Commission, fixed fee, shipping, collection and GST, itemised per order, with no account and no email wall.
- Return analysis is currently switched off
- Two Flipkart return modules exist and are launch-gated pending an accuracy pass. We would rather show nothing than a return analysis we are not confident in, so they are not listed above and not promised here.
Start with the PLA search term report.
As on Amazon, it carries both halves of the opportunity — the queries spending without converting and the ones worth targeting deliberately. Export thirty days from Seller Hub and drop the file in.
Frequently asked questions.
Which Flipkart reports can I analyse?
The five PLA advertising exports — search terms, campaign orders, placements, products and keywords — plus the Earn More opportunity report. Settlement is handled by a calculator rather than an upload. Flipkart's return reports have modules built but currently switched off pending an accuracy review.
Where do I download Flipkart PLA reports from?
Seller Hub → Ads → Reports → Other reports. Choose the ad product (PLA or PCA), then the report type and date range, and generate. The report lands in the same screen once it is ready. Every advertising module here repeats this path with the specific report type it needs.
What does a blank Expected ROI mean on a PLA campaign?
That the campaign is a CPC campaign rather than an ROI-targeted one — you set a cost per click and Flipkart spends to it. It does not mean the ROI target is zero. On ROI campaigns the target sits on the ad group rather than the campaign, which is why it can look missing at campaign level even when one is set.
How is Flipkart's fee structure different from Amazon's?
Flipkart charges commission by category, a fixed fee per order, a collection fee, and shipping on a weight-and-distance slab, with GST applied on top of those fees. Amazon's referral-plus-closing-plus-FBA structure lands in a similar place but with different thresholds, so a margin worked out for one marketplace does not transfer to the other.
Do I need to connect my Flipkart seller account?
No, and there is no option to. You download the report from Seller Hub as you already do and upload the file, which is parsed inside your browser. Nothing is granted and nothing is stored.
Is Flipkart ROI the same as ROAS?
Effectively yes — both express return as a multiple of spend. A Flipkart ROI target of 4 is asking for four rupees of revenue per rupee spent, which is a 4× ROAS and therefore a 25% ACOS. The ROAS calculator converts between the two if you are quoted one and asked for the other.
