AMAZON · REPORTTXT

Amazon sales by geography.

You want to know where your buyers actually are — which states and cities carry the revenue, and which never order.

What the file contains.

Orders and revenue broken down by the buyer's location — state and city — rather than by product or by day. It is the only standard export that answers where your customers actually are.

Most sellers have a firm idea of their top three states and none at all about the next thirty. That gap is where the report earns its keep: cities receiving traffic but placing no orders, regions where delivery promise is long enough to lose the sale, and states carrying more revenue than their population share suggests.

It is also the report that separates a demand problem from a distribution one. A slow month spread evenly across the country is demand. A slow month concentrated in regions served by one fulfilment centre is logistics, and no amount of advertising will fix it.

Note that this module buckets states into Indian zones, so it is built for Amazon India specifically. A US export will parse and then be grouped wrongly, which is why the page says so before you upload.

What it can tell you.

  • Which states and cities carry your revenue
  • Where you receive traffic but almost no orders
  • Whether a regional warehouse would shorten delivery promise where it matters
  • Whether a slow period was national demand or regional distribution

Reading city rankings without population context

The largest cities top every seller's list. The useful signal is a city ranking far above or below what its size predicts, not the raw order.
