N-gram analysis of your search terms.
Individual search terms are too thin to judge and you want the pattern — which words, not which phrases, are winning or wasting.
What the file contains.
Not a separate Amazon export — it is the Search Term Report read a different way. Every customer search term is split into its component words and word pairs, and spend, clicks and orders are totalled per fragment rather than per whole term.
That answers a question no individual term can. A word like 'free', 'used', 'for kids' or a competitor's brand name may appear in forty different search terms, each spending too little to draw attention, and together account for a large share of the waste. Scanning a term list will never surface it, because no single row looks wrong.
It is the highest-leverage thing to do with a search term export, because one negative applied at campaign level can stop spend across every term containing that word at once.
What it can tell you.
- Which single words are draining spend across many search terms
- Which word fragments consistently convert and are worth targeting deliberately
- Whether a competitor's brand name is quietly consuming budget
- Which negatives would have the largest effect for the least disruption

Negating a word that also appears in converting terms
A fragment can carry both waste and revenue. Check the orders column on the fragment before negating it at campaign level, or you will stop a working term to kill a failing one.
